Pig slurry treatment system comprising a primary treatment system consisting of equalization, filtration and worm pressing and a DAF system. The purification process continues with a secondary biological treatment system that includes: An anoxic biological system and an extended aeration biological system.

The main challenge of this project was to be able to respond to the high variability of the effluent conditions, given that this is a mixture between raw slurry (direct from the fattening halls) and the effluent of an anaerobic biodigester. The proportions of both tributaries are variable, which makes the operation and stability of the system complex.
